It is important to fully understand the topics when preparing for upcoming Biology sacs. Students should refer to the relevant study design dot points as a guide to study what is relevant and what isn’t. Often, this step can be overlooked and many students waste valuable SAC preparation time on learning unexaminable, irrelevant information. A great way to learn is to hand write concise summary notes for each topic as writing your own notes in your own words helps with memory retention and understanding. Another great tip is to draw diagrams or flowcharts to visualize the links between different biological concepts and better understand the sequences of events (helpful for a topic like immunity!). Making flashcards to frequently recall key terms is also a great form or revision a few weeks before each SAC. Once students have understood the concepts fully, it is now time to move onto practice questions under SAC conditions. Learn to practice under time conditions in a quiet environment free from distractions. While learning, students should compile a list of questions they do not fully understand so that they can ask for help from their teacher/tutor to improve their answers and consolidate their understanding.
